Europe’s largest automation project, Arrowhead, is participating extensively during IEEE IECON 2016 conference in Florence, Italy, October 24-27.
On October 25, Professor Jerker Delsing, the coordinator of Arrowhead, is keynote speaker: From IoT to production automation. On that same day, Jerker Delsing will moderate a session on Automation systems – IoT components and System of Systems integration during the Industry Forum. Representatives from some of Arrowhead’s partners, Schneider Electric, Valmet and Midro will participate in the session.
Jerker Delsing and Professor Valeriy Vyatkin, also organize a Special Session on Cloud Based Automation Technologies and Applications. In addition, 25 automation applications that all use Arrowhead technology will be demonstrated in Arrowhead’s demo booth.
The Arrowhead project started in March 2013 and will soon reach its endpoint. During the past few years, 78 partners have contributed, trying to solve the challenge of enabling interoperability and integrability of services provided by IoT devices. The result is the Arrowhead Framework, a technology platform for IoT automation in local clouds.
– The Arrowhead Framework is smart, flexible and dynamic while enabling IoT interoperability. Arrowhead technology has had an impact on European automation, some 10 products are released, 3 start-ups, and technology uptake by several major EU projects. Our strength has been our size and the participation of many industrial partners, says Jerker Delsing, coordinator of the Arrowhead project.
