Sub-Demonstration: Energy Optimisation in Smart Buildings
Leader/moderator: Silvia Alonso
Demonstration: T2.1
Content: Energy Optimisation in Smart Buildings
The main objective is the reduction the energy consumption of energy adjusting HVAC system according to real necessities of the building and to future consumption recommendation from the Energy Aggregators.
In order to verify the effectiveness of this service before installing gin the real pilot scenario, Tecnalia is validating it in Mikeletegi 1 building (M1 building), owned by TECNALIA, placed in Parque Tecnológico de Miramón, Donostia, Spain. Next24h-Energy conception and validation has been performed based on measured, registered and processed data about the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning) in M1.
This building has installed a monitorisation system based on a M2M platform called Mango, which captures and visualises information of electrical consumption sub-metered at different points of the HVAC system, the overall electrical consumption, main elements (chillers, AHU, auxiliaries) and in certain cases the natural gas consumption.
On top of this monitoring system the Energy Optimisation Service calculates the energy consumption forecast for the next 24h and gives the setpoints temperatures in order to optimize HVACs behaviour based on indoor and outdoor conditions for the next 24h.
Sub-Demonstration: Eco-Sufficient Home
Leader/moderator: FAGOR
Demonstration: T2.2
Content: Eco-Sufficient Home
Type: We will use a video of about 5 minutes and also a live demo using a tablet or smartphone (we need Internet connection). Total 15 minutes for the whole demo.
We will show household appliance and lighting monitoring system in a laboratory environment. The system is managed by an embedded system that is composed of a Home Energy Controller (HEC) and a HMI. The system will offer one Arrowhead compliant service (energy consumption information).
Sub-Demonstration: Energy Efficiency in Buildings. Intelligence Urban Lighting – Barcelona Demo
Leader/moderator: Catherine Murphy O’Connor, Eduardo Jiménez Segado
Demonstration: T2.1 & T2.3
Content: 2.1 Energy Efficiency in Buildings Lighting – Barcelona Demo. 2.3 Intelligence Urban Lighting – Barcelona Demo
Type: Format: Video and Powerpoint presentation. Duration: 10 min + 10 min.
This demo will show the initial design and implementation of the intelligent urban lighting lab prototype developed by Indra that will be deployed in a real environment during the second and third interaction.
During this demo, Indra will show the two clients that have been developed to monitor and control the smart lighting solution. The video will include a demonstration of a web-based client (Tablet App) that will allow lighting operators to monitor the street lights on-site and a desktop-based client that will allow lighting operators to monitor and control the lighting remotely.
This demonstrator will show how mobility and environment information is collected to adjust the lighting intensity to increase the energy efficiency and the security in the city roads and sidewalks.

The objective of the energy efficiency building demo is to have an overall vision of the energy data workflow, from the raw energy data received by the energy efficiency concentrator till the visualization of the energy data in different platforms.
In the first generation phase, developments have been carried out at the Technical University of Madrid campus.
This demonstrator will be deployed in Barcelona, first at the Centre Civic Sagrada Familia and then in other buildings. To achieve it, the concentrator collects electric data, temperature, humidity etc. from different devices and injects this data in the real time platform. This energy data is retrieved and stored in a database by persistence services and also treated by several real time services.
Different web services will provide this data to different energy efficiency tools which are addressed to end customers and energy building managers.
